Christmas Crafts for Toddlers

Because there are so many ideas that I’m sharing today as well as an overall list of crafts I’ve added a couple of subheadings with separate collages for Christmas tree crafts for toddlers and Christmas ornaments toddlers can make to hopefully make this a bit easier to navigate.

Hopefully these will be crafts that you’ll both love – Christmas is such a great time to spend together making memories and working together on these activities should be a nice bonding time.

A lot of these Christmas projects that my toddlers made are also ones that we popped in frames during the festive period and put them up as Christmas decorations – my kids loved seeing them on display!

As well as our Christmas crafts you’ll also find some of our favourite Christmas books for toddlers (because who doesn’t love a Christmas story and a snuggle?!) and some more of our favourite themed crafts and activities for toddlers to help you create more special time with your child throughout the year.

Our Favourite Christmas Books For Toddlers

I love sharing themed books with my kids and it’s something that they’ve always enjoyed too.

I think it’s nice sometimes to have a bit of chill out time together after you’ve been busy making something or of course Christmas books are always perfect for a bedtime read – we’ve even shared 24 ideas for a Christmas books advent calendar.

Christmas books also make a great addition to a Christmas Eve box, just add a couple of Christmas chocolates and maybe a new pair of pyjamas!

How Can I Make Christmas Crafts with Toddlers

As usual you’ll need to supervise your toddler for the duration of the activity, especially as some crafts include using scissors or materials like pom poms.

I also find it easier with toddlers and younger kids if I get all the activity set up ready before we start and get any materials set out.

For example – if you want to use traditional reds and greens then make sure that’s the colours you set out otherwise my experience tells me I’ll end up with a purple Christmas tree craft or an orange snowman. Of course if you want to let your toddler choose the colours then go for it too!

While these craft ideas are aimed at toddler age children you’ll also know that all kids develop differently and of course are interested in different things too so take a look through the list and find the ones that you think are most suitable for your child’s interests and abilities, there’s plenty of time for making any others over the next few years with preschoolers and youngers school age kids also able to make a lot of these crafts.
