This post has been sponsored by Kleenex®, Danimals, and NABISCO. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Back to school doesn’t have to make us all sigh into one non-creative slump.

Instead let’s take all the fun of summer and transport our kids lunch boxes into a fun and whimsical way to break up their day.

And no, I’m not talking about complex and crazy time-wasting lunches, but simple tricks that will create a great experience for both you and your kiddos to kick off the school year.

To create this easy & fun lunch option we picked up all the ingredients at our local Target store. Save up to 10% on select snacks and essentials in the Target app with through 9/2!

Ham, apple & cheese waffle sandwich

  • 4 Mini waffles
  • 3 slices ham (1.5 oz.)
  • 1 slice cheddar cheese (1 oz.)
  • 1/2 cup apple slices
  • 6 celery sticks
  • 1 Tbsp. Ranch Dressing
  • Honey TEDDY GRAHAMS® Snacks
  • Danimals® Smoothie Drinks Strawberry Explosion

Plus we sent along a package of our beloved Kleenex® Wet Wipe products. I love sending these to school with lunches, because we all know how likely it is that our kids are going to get up from their lunch table to wash their hands. Right!??? Instead our Kleenex® Wet Wipes give them an easy way to get clean, they are refreshing and gentle on little hands.

And now for the fun part, making a good and -rounded lunch is important, making lunch fun is special!

To create the cactus and llama lunch sandwiches, we purchased this fun summer garland and snipped off the heads of the llamas. The cactus stayed whole, but you can recreate this idea with any type of animal or plant your kid loves. It takes less than a minute and brings such a burst of joy to lunch time.

Next we flipped them over and secured a toothpick to the end.

Lastly, we slid the toothpick into the sandwich to create our own display of whimsical spunk and fun at lunchtime.

I love that I can get all these creative items and all the everyday staples we need for a great school lunches at Target like Smoothie Drinks and TEDDY GRAHAMS Multipack snacks. For more back-to-school lunch ideas, check out!
