Philadelphia Museum of Art Hosts a Lecture With Street Photographer Akinbode Akinbiyi

The 2022 Arnold Newman Lecture is free with registration and will take place virtually on March 3 at 12pm (EST).
In this online lecture on March 3, Akinbode Akinbiyi will discuss a recent project of his that addresses the impact of COVID-19 on Germany’s urban landscape. He will situate it within his ongoing practice, which includes works in the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s collection.
Akinbode Akinbiyi was born in Oxford, England, to Nigerian parents and has been a freelance photographer since 1977. His primary photographic focus attempts to understand and deeply engage with the modern city. The work is open-ended and driven by a desire to dive into the meaning and subjectivity of the everyday. Akinbiyi lives in and works out of Berlin.
Space is limited for the 2022 Arnold Newman Lecture. To attend, free registration is required by 12pm (EST) on March 2.
